As from February last year I am based in the School of Teacher Education Practice in the Faculty of Education, University of Auckland. My first challenge to the instigation of the e-portfolio project came when i was questioned in my first week as to why the 'e'. This was from a senior well respected staff developer who had been involved in e-learning for some time and so i was a little taken back. My response was that in this age of digital technologies and the exposure to multimedia that the children get, for teacher education especially, how can we not take the 'e' route.
